Trailways® has been serving travelers for more than 72 years. It is a franchise organization comprised of independently-owned transportation companies as well as other tour- and travel-related service entities providing charter & tour, scheduled route, sightseeing & travel planning, shuttle, transit and supplementary intermodal via ground, air, rail and sea access.

There are 79 transportation member companies, located in 31 states, Ontario, Canada, and Germany and The Netherlands, offering a wide variety of travel and transportation services. The network consists of a vast array of more than 3,000 late model transport vehicles.

The Trailways® transportation system also includes a network of industry suppliers, professional organizations and other trade-related entities.

What Vehicles Are Available For a Trailways® Charter?

  • A Traditional School Bus represents a basic transportation option for customers seeking the least expensive way to transport a group, locally.
  • A Luxury Motorcoach is the most popular option for transporting groups; local outings, point-to-point shuttles, and over-the-road (charter-tour) excursions. Passenger seating capacity in a luxury motorcoach can range from 35 to 55 persons; the coach is equipped with VCR and multiple monitors, stereo sound systems, and restrooms. Motorcoach travel is the most cost-effective, timely, and relaxing mode of transportation in North America; it is certainly more luxurious than flying a commercial airline.
  • Transporting smaller groups, up to 15 passengers, Trailways offers Mini-coaches. Each mini-coach has individual seating similar to a full-size motorcoach, however, mini-coaches are recommended for short distances; primarily, local transportation only. Remember; for longer travel periods, a Trailways full-size luxury motorcoach is the most comfortable and cost-effective mode of transporting groups of people.
  • Executive Coaches are great vehicles to utilize for business, social, and specialty group travel events (weddings, business fieldtrips or sales meetings, product introductions or event-to-event transport). This type of vehicle is also great for smaller, more intimate travel groups (no more than 20 passengers) for longer distances. An executive (day) and/or entertainer-sleeper coach is a customized, 5-star suite on wheels that features many unique options such as luxury bathroom with shower, bedrooms, lounge, kitchen galley, game and meeting area, and the latest high-tech communication devices.
  • Trolleys and Double Decker Vehicles are specialty coaches used mainly for around town or local transport activities (parades, sightseeing-touring, weddings, community, seasonal events, etc.). If you use your imagination, a trolley or double-decker vehicle is a unique and fun way to transport a group; these vehicles will vary in passenger-transport capacity.
