Fairfax, VA – The board of directors of Trailways Transportation System (Trailways) has elected Jonathan T. Berzas as its new Chair of the Board. Berzas’s three-year term commences January 1, 2017 (2017-2019), it has been announced by Ron Moore, current Chair of the Board (Burlington Trailways, Iowa).
Berzas is President/CEO of Fullington Trailways of Clearfield, Pennsylvania. He has served on the Trailways board since 2015 and on its executive committee since May 2016. He has also served as chair of its Security Committee. This year he began the Trailways Business Council to provide consultation to Trailways members in conjunction with the Spader Group.
The Chair’s job to ensure that the Board operates as a team, to coordinate the planning of the Board’s activities for the year ahead and to help plan for the future of Trailways. The Chair is responsible for ensuring that an ongoing planning process exists for Trailways.
Fullington Trailways has participated in several large national Trailways transportation events including the 2012, 2016 Republican and Democratic National Conventions; annual Inaugural events, and many others.

Berzas said he also believes Trailways has unlimited potential to grow as a brand. “The brand name provides is a valuable competitive advantage in the local market. Our brand carries a legacy of 80 years of trusted passenger transportation service. We will continue to assist owners with integration of the brand with their strong local identity.”
Fullington Trailways has been affiliated with the Trailways network for nearly 20 years.
“It is an honor to be elected Trailways’ Chair,” Berzas said. “This organization has a formidable heritage – some of our companies have over a century of transportation service. While we want to honor that past, we also want to embrace the future as we respond to market changes and challenges in the future,” he added.
Berzas said his priorities for the Trailways’ organization of independently owned motor coach companies include launching the new Trailways Business Council with the Spader Group; sales & marketing and growing the brand. “When the team pools its considerable industry knowledge and resources great business opportunities emerge,” he said.
Biography: Jonathan T. Berzas is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fullington Auto Bus Company which was founded in 1908. Jonathan joined Fullington on April 4, 2011. He is responsible for managing and leading all facets of the business. Jonathan brings over 25 years of experience within the motor coach, travel and tour industry to Fullington. This includes five years with American Airlines, ten years with Greyhound Lines, Inc. in various management positions, and ten years owning and operating A Great Way to Charter, Tour and Travel, a motor coach charter services and Tour Company. While working for American Airlines, Jonathan attended Northlake College before accepting a management position with Greyhound Lines, Inc. Jonathan also serves as a Director on both the Pennsylvania Bus Association Board and the national Trailways Transportation System Board. Jonathan and his wife, Belynda, have been married for 23 years and have three boys.
