Team Trailways Sights Canadian Expansion
Founded in 1990, the company is owned by the Breton Family. Autocars LC Trailways serves primarily charter and school clients with its fleet of 18 full-size motorcoaches for convention and meetings transport, as well as day and longer haul tours throughout Quebec, Ontario, and New York City.
Jean-Francois Breton, vice president, said his family will utilize the Trailways brand as a catalyst to obtain additional business in eastern Canada and America. “We expect to interest stateside tour operators, who bring people into Canada, in using our Trailways affiliated services,” said Breton. “We can provide both airport pickups and tour transport throughout our region.”
Networking with Trailways members is another advantage Breton expects to receive from the new affiliation.
“Having connections across the continent will be of mutual benefit when road repairs are necessary,” Breton added. “And we look forward to cooperating with other Trailways companies in providing larger contract services where needed.”
Gale Ellsworth, Trailways president/CEO, said the addition of an eastern based, Canadian team member, helps further the network’s reach and mission—expand the Trailways brand north of U.S. borders.

Both Autocars LC Trailways and Great Canadian Trailways utilize the Canadian equivalent of a USA Department of Defense (DOD) certification, as approved by Canadian officials. All Trailways members carry DOD certification or their country’s equivalent. The stringent DOD certification is the motorcoach customer’s highest assurance of a safe and secure service conduct.
