Northeast Trailways Drives Brand to Maine

Fairfax, VA

Big Red has arrived in the Pine Tree State with the addition of Northeast Trailways joining the Team Trailways network. The company is based in Lewiston, and serves customers throughout Maine and New Hampshire.

Scott Riccio, president and owner of Northeast Trailways has nearly two decades of experience in the tour and transportation industry. He founded the company more than ten years ago with one motorcoach. With a fleet of eight, full-size motorcoaches, Northeast now transports passengers throughout the northeastern US and eastern Canada.

Charter business for regional sports team like the “Portland Sea Dogs” (baseball) and the “Lewiston Maniacs” (hockey) are a part of the company’s service repertoire.

“The business philosophy of the Trailways organization meshes nicely with our own,” said Riccio. “We have been impressed with the way the group conducts its business. The bus business is about loyalty and service, and Trailways certainly has maintained these values for its more than seven decades of existence,” Riccio continued. “We look forward to being part of a really great organization, and we know our new brand brings increased confidence to our customers.”

Trailways affiliation will enable Northeast Trailways to enlarge charter business opportunities and gain easy access to road repair services nationwide, if- and when- necessary. Riccio also said he looks forward to utilizing the various Trailways equipment and services benefits that have been secured for the network of motorcoach carriers.

Like all Team Trailways independent member-companies, Northeast maintains the highest safety standards as prescribed by the US Department of Defense (US DOD). US DOD annual inspections audit all areas of a company’s safe passenger transport service, including routine operational practices, equipment maintenance, plus ongoing driver training and illegal substances testing.
