What Vehicles Are Available For a Trailways® Charter?
- A Traditional School Bus represents a basic transportation option for customers seeking the least expensive way to transport a group, locally.
- A Luxury Motorcoach is the most popular option for transporting groups; local outings, point-to-point shuttles, and over-the-road (charter-tour) excursions. Passenger seating capacity in a luxury motorcoach can range from 35 to 55 persons; the coach is equipped with VCR and multiple monitors, stereo sound systems, and restrooms. Motorcoach travel is the most cost-effective, timely, and relaxing mode of transportation in North America; it is certainly more luxurious than flying a commercial airline.
- Transporting smaller groups, up to 15 passengers, Trailways offers Mini-coaches. Each mini-coach has individual seating similar to a full-size motorcoach, however, mini-coaches are recommended for short distances; primarily, local transportation only. Remember; for longer travel periods, a Trailways full-size luxury motorcoach is the most comfortable and cost-effective mode of transporting groups of people.
- Executive Coaches are great vehicles to utilize for business, social, and specialty group travel events (weddings, business fieldtrips or sales meetings, product introductions or event-to-event transport). This type of vehicle is also great for smaller, more intimate travel groups (no more than 20 passengers) for longer distances. An executive (day) and/or entertainer-sleeper coach is a customized, 5-star suite on wheels that features many unique options such as luxury bathroom with shower, bedrooms, lounge, kitchen galley, game and meeting area, and the latest high-tech communication devices.
- Trolleys and Double Decker Vehicles are specialty coaches used mainly for around town or local transport activities (parades, sightseeing-touring, weddings, community, seasonal events, etc.). What is Included in a Trailways® Charter Quote?
A price quoted for a single day trip is usually based upon a 12-hour period, commencing from the time the first passenger boards, up to the time in which the last passenger leaves the coach. Additional hours may be added at a per hour rate. Multi-day trips may be priced based on mileage, daily itinerary, transfers, and/or overnight stays.
Is Trailways® Driver Gratuities Included in the Price of a Charter?
No; gratuity for superior service averages $1.00 to $2.00 per person.
What are Trailways® Group Charter Terms?
Contracts must be signed and returned within 10 days of booking; and, a 25% deposit must be forwarded along with the signed contract.
Final/Full payment is due 15 days in advance of the charter trip. Some charter contracts may also require a security deposit.
When seeking a Trailways® Charter Quote, you can expect to receive a quote within 72 hours. Quotes will not be returned if the prospective charter is being planned for more than 14 months in advance.
