ADA also defines a Service Animal as: Any animal individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Tasks typically performed by service animals include guiding people with impaired vision, alerting individuals with impaired hearing to the presence of intruders or sounds, providing minimal protection or rescue work, pulling a wheelchair, or retrieving dropped items.
Official service pets accompanying passengers are allowed aboard any Trailways bus, at no additional cost.
General or leisure pet travel aboard a Trailways bus, however, is at the discretion of each bus company operating the scheduled route service.
If pet transport is allowed by a Trailways bus company, the only animals which may be brought aboard the bus is either a cat or dog, which weighs less than 25 lbs, and must be securely contained in an official "Live" pet transport carrier.
